Thank you to LaMoille Fireman Jeremy Fry and Arlington Asst. Chief Nick Pinter for putting together the first ever LaMoille Buffalo Days Kids Water Fights. It was a huge success. Also, thank you to LaMoille Fireman Tadd Lundquist, Arlington Firemen, Greg Pinter, William Stuepfert and Arlington Chief Nick Drummer for your assistance. You couldn't wipe the smile off their faces.
Somebody from out of town once told me that LaMoille reminded them of Mayberry. At the time, I'm sure I giggled and probably smiled and nodded, agreeing, not giving it a lot of thought. Through the years, different events have occurred that brought that comparison back to mind. I'd ponder it and catch myself silently agreeing once again. This years Buffalo Days brought it all back. Think about it. In what other areas do the past few days events occur? We sell slabs of sidewalk for a small fee so children can Paint the Town. And boy, did they. Small towns do this. We have people make 'beds' on wheels and race them through town for a trophy. Where golf carts and 4wheelers are acceptable modes of transportation for the weekend (and probably any weekend) Small towns do this. Where we choose a Grand Marshal for our parade who everyone knows and loves and show them off on the backs of convertibles. Thank you, Troy. La Moille loves you as much as you love us. Where we pick young girls and call them Princesses and watch them ride through town atop freshly scrubbed fire trucks. Small towns do this. We salute our veterans and cheer for our marching band as crowds line Main Street and kids scramble for the candy tossed to them. Where class reunions are held and old friends come home, making new memories with past faces. I loved seeing you all and we're forever linked. Small towns do this. Where out door movies are held on church lawns and the community gathers for Sunday services as a town. Where bands entertain from afternoons on throughout the evening and the drummer is family. Love you, Nick. We love watching you play. Where auctions are held to raise money for our town and a little girl donates a cake that sells for $350. Thank you, Taylor.. and thank you to all who donated and all who bought. Who does this, seriously? Small towns do this. It takes a village.. literally.. to pull off all the events of the last three days so be sure to thank the ones who donated their time and energy when you see them. I'll never apologize for where we come from or the things we do. We pull together to make things happen.. like small towns do. ❤️ Stacy Jensen 2018

Love Adam Klein’s quote.
“Although LaMoille is a small village, everyone has their own lives and families, but Buffalo Days offers a time for everyone to come together and have fun.” If ya didn’t get there this year, come back next year.
"When this is over, may we never again take for granted A handshake with a stranger, Full shelves at the store Conversations with neighbors, A crowded theater Friday night out, The taste of communion, A routine checkup, The school rush each morning, Coffee with a friend, The stadium roaring Each deep breath, A boring Tuesday, Life itself. When this ends--- may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted to be, we were called to be, we hoped to be and may we stay that way. better for each other because of the worst." |
